Reel Making (BTS, 60 Seconds)

The “Cinemato” Reel Making BTS Competition invites participants to capture the untold stories behind the grand fest “Genesis” This challenge emphasizes creativity, storytelling, and technical skills, encouraging participants to present raw, authentic, and cinematic glimpses of the fest in a concise 60-second reel format.

Rules & Regulations

  • Reel duration must not exceed 60 seconds.
  • Content must be original and shot during Genesis 2026.
  • Any device (mobile or camera) can be used.
  • Basic editing, transitions, and copyright-free music are allowed.
  • Plagiarism or pre-recorded content will lead to disqualification.
  • Submissions must be in the prescribed format before the deadline.
  • Rights of submitted videos vest with DBS Global University.

In just two minutes, participants are challenged to create a compact yet impactful cinematic experience—one that captures the highlights, emotions, and essence of Day 1 and Day 2, leaving the audience with a lasting impression.

Rules & Regulations

  • The video must be original and created exclusively for Genesis 2026.
  • It should present a unique perspective of the event, not just random clips stitched together.
  • The video format must be horizontal (16:9).
  • Maximum duration: 2 minutes (strict limit).
  • The video must cover highlights from Day 1 and Day 2 of Genesis.
  • Submission will take place on Day 3.
  • Ensure high resolution, clear visuals, and stable shots—low-quality or shaky footage may lead to disqualification.
  • No plagiarism—any reused or copied content will be rejected.

Judging Criteria

  • Storytelling — how effectively the video captures the spirit of Genesis
  • Cinematography — shot composition, angles, lighting, transitions
  • Impact — emotional and visual engagement
  • Coverage & Clarity — key activities from Day 1 & 2

General Guidelines

  • Eligibility: Open to all universities (inter-university event).

  • Genre & Language: Open to all, but offensive content leads to disqualification.

  • Bands must carry their own instruments.
  • Basic sound setup (mics, amps, and drum kit) will be provided.
  • Additional requirements must be communicated 48 hours prior.

It goes beyond just clicking pictures—it’s about seeing the extraordinary in ordinary moments and capturing the fest from your own lens. Whether it’s the chaos of the crowd, the intensity of performances, or quiet candid moments, every photograph should tell a story. This event invites participants to showcase their creative eye, timing, and perspective, turning real-time experiences from Day 1 and Day 2 into striking visual frames that speak for themselves.

Rules & Regulations

  • Photos must reflect the theme — capturing the essence of Genesis (Day 1 & Day 2).
  • Photos must be taken within the DBS Global University campus during the event.
  • All entries must be original. If two images are similar, first submitted will be considered.
  • Each participant can submit up to 4 photographs.
  • Must be captured using DSLR or high-resolution devices (including premium smartphones).
  • The best two pictures from each participant will be awarded.

This activity is designed to give the students a platform to present their dexterous and witty thinking.

Rules & Regulations

  • The event is open to all students and will be conducted in an individual format.
  • Each participant will be assigned a famous and controversial personality on the spot through a chit system.
  • Participants will be given one chance only to change the allotted personality. No further changes will be permitted.
  • Each participant will be provided 2 minutes of preparation time.
  • Participants will be given 3 minutes to advocate and defend the allotted personality.
  • After the presentation, 1 minute will be allotted for the question-answer round by the judges.
  • Participants must defend the assigned personality irrespective of their personal opinion.
  • Use of mobile phones, or external assistance during preparation is allowed.
  • Participants are expected to maintain professional decorum and avoid offensive or defamatory language.
  • The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.

The ""case method"" is an approach to learning that encourages students to extract useful lessons from the experiences of others (""cases""). The focus of this method is to make students study of specific events in order to discover general principles that they can apply in other situations.

Rules & Regulations

The student(s) need to follow the following Structure/ methodology in solving the case study:

  • The competition is open to all Students.
  • The team can consist of a single individual or a team.
  • The maximum number of team members can be three.
  • The number of PowerPoint slides for case analysis will be specific to 12 slides.
  • A case-let will be provided in Word format to each participant a day before the event.

Investrix- Stock Simulation

The 120-Second Stock Pitch Challenge is a fast-paced investment competition organised by the Bulls & Bears Club. Each team is required to select a publicly listed stock and deliver a concise, well-researched pitch convincing the audience and judges why they should BUY that stock — all within 120 seconds. The event tests financial literacy, analytical thinking, and the ability to communicate a compelling investment story under time pressure.

Rules & Regulations

  • Each team gets exactly 120 seconds. Timing begins when the team starts speaking or the first slide appears — whichever comes first.
  • Teams may pitch with or without slides. If slides are used, a strict maximum of 3 slides applies.
  • All financial data cited must be accurate and sourced from credible platforms (NSE/BSE, company filings, Screener.in, Moneycontrol, Bloomberg, etc.).
  • Only publicly listed stocks may be pitched. No two teams may pitch the same stock (first-come, first-served registration).
  • Clearly state the Current Market Price (CMP), your Target Price, and the expected upside at the start or end of the pitch.
  • Acknowledge at least one key risk associated with the stock.
  • Slide decks (if any) must be submitted to the organiser at least 30 minutes before the event.
  • Teams exceeding 120 seconds will incur a scoring penalty (5 points per 10 seconds over the limit).

  • Q&A (If applicable): Up to 2 minutes of questions from the judges may follow the pitch.

There is no single “correct” stock to pitch. Judges will evaluate the rigour, financial accuracy, and conviction of your investment case — not just the stock’s past performance. Recommended Slide Structure (If Using PPT)

Tests participants across business, economics, brands, and current affairs through a written semi-final and a high-energy live final.

Rules & Regulations

DIRECTIONS FOR SEMI FINAL ROUND:

  • This exam contains 50 multiple choice questions, each worth 2 points and there is no negative marking for wrong answers.
  • Circle the correct response for each question. Make sure that your answer is clearly marked and write the option in the box too. You will not receive partial credit for any work done.
  • This is a closed-book, closed notes examination. You may use a calculator if you wish. However, cell phones are not permitted for use in any way.
  • Any discussion or otherwise inappropriate communication between examinees, as well as the appearance of any unnecessary material or cell-phone usage, will be dealt with severely. Violations may result “Fail" for this exam.

Judging Criteria

  • Six teams will be selected for final round.
  • Teams may swap their participants position after any of the rounds.
  • Students have to be in school uniform.
  • Two life lines (Expert Advice) will be provided for entire game.
  • In case of tie between 2 or more teams, results will be in favor of team which would have scored better in semifinal round.
  • 10 Marks for each correct answer, and 5 negative marks for wrong answer whether it’s new or a forwarded question, no negative mark if team passes the question.
  • If a team doesn’t answer the question the question will be forwarded to the next team.
  • If Next team does the same, then the question will be forwarded to the next teams subsequently.
  • If forwarded question will be answered correctly, team gets 5 marks and the new question will be asked to the same team.
  • Answering time is only 30 seconds.
  • Quiz Master’s decision will be final, No argument will be entertained.

It is quite common to see a speaker experiencing nervousness when asked to speak instantly. Effective impromptu speaking is a skill that can be learnt through practice and training.

  • Each round runs for 60 seconds total across all speakers.
  • To object: slam the table and say "JAM". JAM Master's decision is final.
  • Penalties for: stuttering, fillers, grammatical errors, repeating a previously used idea.
  • Positive points for every second spoken and every correct objection.

Role Allotment (Chit System)

  • All roles will be assigned through a random chit-draw method.
  • Each participant is required to pick one chit from the bowl.
  • Each participant will be given one opportunity to redraw a chit if they are not satisfied with the initially assigned role.
  • The second chit drawn will be considered final and binding.
  • Participants will not be allowed to revert to or reclaim their previously assigned role after selecting a new chit.
  • Participants must perform strictly according to the role assigned to them.
 

Preparation Time

  • Each participant will be given 10 minutes of preparation time immediately after selecting their chit.
  • No additional time will be provided.
 

Performance Guidelines

  • Participants must remain in character throughout their performance.
  • The portrayal should reflect the personality, speaking style, and attitude of the assigned role.

Questioning Round
