B.Sc with Specialization in Agri Business

The global food and agribusiness sector is one of the largest and fastest-growing industries worldwide, yet it faces a critical shortage of professionals who can bridge the gap between agriculture and business.

The B.Sc. Agribusiness Management (Honours) programme at the Doon School of Modern Agriculture & Forestry is designed to address this need. Rooted in a strong agronomic foundation, the four-year honours pathway integrates business, finance, marketing, law, and AI-powered analytics to prepare students for leadership in agrifood enterprises, supply chain management, commodity markets, and digital transformation in Indian agriculture. Graduates emerge as business-ready agri-professionals, equipped to join leading agribusiness companies, agricultural banks such as NABARD, commodity exchanges, cooperative institutions, and food processing firms, or to launch their own entrepreneurial ventures in the agribusiness domain.

USPs of the Program

  • Agri Tech & AI Integration → The B.Sc. curriculum embeds advanced agri tech tools and AI driven analytics (TreeAI, ArcGIS Pro, Wolfram Alpha, Miro AI), ensuring graduates can harness technology for precision agriculture and sustainable practices.
  • Supply Chain & Commodity Markets → Students gain expertise in supply chain resilience, logistics optimisation, and commodity market dynamics, including futures trading and APMC exposure — with insights enriched by case studies from DGU’s MBA faculty.
  • Sustainable Agriculture & ICAR Alignment → Core agronomy and crop production subjects are benchmarked to ICAR standards, while electives span entrepreneurship, IPR, CSR, and strategic management, reflecting the academic rigour shared across B.Sc. and MBA pathways.
  • Market Access & Business Core → Equal emphasis on agronomy, economics, marketing, finance, and business law equips graduates to design effective distribution channels and expand market reach — a foundation that seamlessly connects to MBA level strategic modules.
  • Experiential Learning & Field Exposure → Structured internships and live projects in Year 4 (Student READY / RAWE programme) at agribusinesses, cooperatives, commodity markets, and FPOs ensure industry readiness, complemented by MBA faculty networks for advanced exposure.
  • Vertical Pathway to Leadership → The B.Sc. serves as a launchpad into DGU’s flagship MBA in Agribusiness, creating a continuum from undergraduate training to postgraduate leadership, producing graduates who are both business ready and academically future proof.
