Quality Assurance at DBS Global University

The Office of Quality Initiatives and IQAC provide a robust framework for continually enhancing the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment. Rooted in the university's commitment to academic excellence and innovation, this framework enables every academic unit to critically examine and strengthen its practices in alignment with global standards.

The office is entrusted with developing and implementing comprehensive quality benchmarks, internal academic audits, and structured feedback mechanisms. It also facilitates the University’s engagement with external assessments and accreditations. These efforts ensure that continuous quality enhancement remains integral to our institutional ethos.

To further reinforce this vision, the university has constituted the Internal Quality Assurance Committee (IQAC), which actively considers recommendations from diverse stakeholders—including faculty, students, alumni, and industry partners—to inform quality assurance strategies and decisions.

The Quality Office collaborates closely with the vice chancellor, registrar, and school deans to institutionalize a culture of excellence, transparency, and accountability. Through a clearly defined organizational structure and committee system, it ensures the strategic alignment of quality initiatives across all academic and administrative domains while recognizing and rewarding contributions from faculty and students alike.

At DBS Global University, quality assurance is not a one-time process but a sustained commitment to excellence. It supports compliance with national regulatory frameworks such as the Uttarakhand Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2024, and with the guidelines of statutory bodies including the University Grants Commission (UGC), Bar Council of India (BCI), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and others. These regulatory imperatives are mapped to the university’s own vision and mission, shaping its core functions across teaching, research, innovation, and community engagement.

Vision

To embed a strong culture of quality as a foundational pillar of DBS Global University by institutionalizing and internalizing all quality enhancement initiatives, supported through both internal mechanisms and external collaborations.

Objectives:

The core objectives of the IQAC are:

  • To establish a structured mechanism that facilitates conscious, consistent, and catalytic action plans aimed at enhancing the academic and administrative performance of the university.
  • To nurture and institutionalize a quality-centric culture by embedding best practices into the fabric of institutional functioning, thereby ensuring sustainable quality enhancement over time.
Functions:

Some of the functions of the IQAC are:

  • Developing and applying quality benchmarks and parameters for various academic and administrative activities.
  • Defining standards and indicators for evaluating performance across academic units and support services.
  • Fostering a learner-centric ecosystem that encourages academic excellence, faculty development, and the integration of technology-enabled, participatory teaching and learning methods.
  • Gathering, analyzing, and utilizing feedback from students, faculty, alumni, employers, and other stakeholders to improve institutional processes.
  • Disseminating relevant information on quality assurance standards, policies, and achievements to all stakeholders.
  • Organizing intra- and inter-institutional workshops, seminars, and quality circles focused on promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Documenting quality improvement initiatives, innovations, and good practices adopted across the university.
  • Serving as the nodal body for coordinating quality-related initiatives and facilitating the adoption and sharing of institutional best practices.
  • Developing and maintaining a robust Management Information System (MIS) to support data-driven decision-making and quality assurance
  • Conducting periodic academic and administrative audits and ensuring effective follow-up on recommendations.
  • Preparing and submitting the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) in accordance with the guidelines prescribed by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
