At DBS, it is our belief that experiences of corporate leaders provide invaluable learning to the students of management. The Leadership Lecture Series has been designed to serve as a forum for exchange of intellectually stimulating ideas between business heads and future managers through the lecture format. Such sessions see students getting a practical perspective on the theoretical concepts learnt in class with the industry stalwarts gaining fresher and newer ideas. Continuing with this tradition, DBS saw the most successful managers, leaders, and thinkers descend on campus during the previous academic year.
Apart from Lecture Series, Workshops serve as customized avenues for organizations to interact with students. Simulation games, experiential exercises, and domain-specific training are some examples of the types of workshops that have been explored in the past.
Live Projects are an excellent opportunity for the students to assist managers in solving live business issues. These live projects could either be in the form of an independent project or a part of an ongoing project. For students, these projects are an opportunity to showcase their skills in the related areas in real business scenarios. For participating organizations, it is an opportunity to evaluate and leverage the calibre and intellectual capital of the students. At DBS, Live Projects are considered extremely serious assignments and hence each project is supervised by a faculty mentor who both guides the students doing the project and continually monitors the project’s progress. Our students have been appreciated in the past for their efforts in Live Projects at leading organizations such as ITC, Tata Motors, Uniqlo, Flipkart, Samsung.
